This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of Jim Dobson, longtime member of the Blairsville Kiwanis Club and dedicated public servant to Union county. Jim worked at the Georgia Mountain Experiment Station for 38 years and after retirement devoted him time to serving the needs of Union County. He always had a pocket full of tickets from different funds raising events each time you would see him, and it was easier to buy one that to tell him no. Jim served on many non-profit organizations, but the Blairsville Kiwanis Club held top rank when it came to volunteering,. He sold more tickets for the Pancake Breakfast than all other members in the club combined.
Last years event brought good food and fun for over 700 people in the community. Please make plans to attend this year’s event in memory of Jim Dobson and also for a wonderful breakfast! The menu for this year is all you can eat pancakes with strawberry, blueberry and chocolate chip toppings, sausage, juice, milk and coffee. Carry out will also be available. So gather up the family and neighbors and come join the Kiwanians for a hot breakfast and lots of fellowship.
